Sabina Knees

Sabina KneesSabina has recently been appointed as a researcher on the Flora of the Arabian Peninsula and Socotra project at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) following a brief period as the Royal Horticultural Society's International Conifer Registrar. As the Stanley Smith Research Fellow in Horticultural Taxonomy, she revised the text and developed an electronic version of the six volumes of the European Garden Flora (EGF). Before this she was editor of The New Plantsman for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and a Research Associate at RBGE. As the second Research Associate on the European Garden Flora (EGF) project from 1987 until 1994, her work at Edinburgh involved the production of Volumes 4 to 6 of the Flora and also verification of the living collections.

She was one of the founder members of HORTAX and one of the principal organisers of the Third International Symposium on the Taxonomy of Cultivated Plants held in Edinburgh in 1998.
